OBSESSION :: GROUND COVER

When we were remodeling the house, or actually I think it's fine to say "fixing" because a) it was set on fire and b) someone was definitely living under our rotting porch, Henri and I were very invested in the landscaping. Of course none of our ideas actually made it to our front yard/lawn, but I haven't stopped looking for the perfect ground cover.

I think I found it though. If I don't end up living out my Blue Crush fantasy and not have to worry about silly things like ground cover, I'd choose something similar to this (LACMA).

ECRU

These images are all from Zara People. Go to their site and you'll see it - it's just lots of photos of people wearing their clothes. I like it because it's nice seeing cool photos of people wearing affordable clothes instead of everything designer and everything way out of my meager, student budget. 

My favorite colors are: navy, black, white, grey and camel. But maybe for summer I should make a transition from navy to ecru? Because literally everything blue from Zara is called "ecru" and I've never heard of that but it definitely sounds cooler. But also pretentious, like, "Yes, hello, my name is Isabelle and I love the color ecru. So cute".

I'll just stick to blue.

I would wear this outfit all the time if I was VS model too, you know. It's all circumstantial.

I'm really into this photo and type. I wonder, though, why they decided to make the sport so unreadable - was it to draw attention to the fact that it's a sportswear spread? Or does the spacing between the "spo" and the "r__t" draw attention to "spo" (what?)? Are we supposed to read "sport" slower? Probably. And I like the (chic), like it's an aside, or like it's only there for people who aren't in the know to realize that sportswear is (chic), like it's there ironically.

I want to start incorporating typography into my designs. See where I can go with it. I started putting random strips of artist tape in my journal to see how I decide to write around it. It looks pretty cool.

BIGGIE.

This isn't the most original idea, but I want a shirt like this. Maybe in pink, most likely black. 

I was skiing and I filmed a little bit of the cat track to get to Upper Reynolds @ Ski Bowl and Juicy was playing (right before, the music stops when you take a video on an iPod) and it was really swell b/c I could rap it in my head while taking the video. You know, his songs always come at such a great time. I'll upload the video later, the clouds were ridiculous.
